The Original Wedding Soiree
A SHORT NOTE.
It has been years since we produced The Original Wedding Soiree - a curated wedding showcase for modern clientele in Toronto.
This incredible event was created by Renee and developed into something original for brides. Something unique and first of its kind.
Back in 2010 there were only big box bridal shows and she created something original.
There were no boutique, intimate and interactive wedding shows.
There were no Bridal Beauty Bars.
There were no walk-around fashion shows.
And when she went asking vendors to participate in the event in Spring - well let’s just say that vendors were shocked that she wanted to put on a wedding show in the Spring because that was unheard of.
She set the bar and the trend and everyone followed.
It started at The Mississauga Grand Banquet and Event Centre then built its way to One King West. It continued to The Intercontinental Toronto Yorkville Hotel and even one year was held at The Warehouse.
You may be curious as to why it stopped temporarily?
In 2016 Renee produced a boutique event - also first of its kind - The COCOLILY Social - an event for the female entrepreneur in Niagara Falls. During that year her mom’s condition (fighting cancer for seven years) worsened. Two weeks after The COCOLILY Social her mom passed at the hospice.
Words from Renee….
After my mom’s passing, events left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I had focused all my time on being by my mom’s side while she was at the hospice for one month but she pushed me to do the event in Niagara and told me that I can do it and it’ll be amazing. She was right but I still wish I spent those moments with her, holding her hand. I swore off events from that day up until recently when the sparks came back again and I heard my moms voice saying “you love doing these…you have a passion for them” so here we are. To all of those who know me and my journey - thank you for always sticking by my side and all my events, projects and ideas. I am blessed. To all the new people I will meet while I re-embark on this journey again, welcome.
