About Renee, The Founder
Hello Lovely! So nice to meet you here. I am the founder/creative director behind COCOLILY & CO. - based out of Toronto. A bit about my background and how all this came to be…
As a business school graduate, my career began in sales and marketing roles in the hospitality industry. My entrepreneurial days started in 2007 with a local print publication for women - it was the first of its kind; For Her Magazine. I later transitioned into the event industry in 2010, producing boutique-style wedding, fashion and lifestyle signature events such as The Original Wedding Soiree, The Original Mommy Soiree, Lady Boss Social and COCOLILY Moda Parade.
In 2012, I founded COCOLILY & CO., which consisted of a limited edition print publication and digital issues. COCOLILY magazine features hand-selected shops, products, services and HER STORY; spotlights on female entrepreneurs. Each issue I handcraft with love while sipping on my Americano!
This was also about the time that I realized being an entrepreneur wasn’t easy especially if you are wearing all the hats. I also missed chatting with co-workers and others about ideas, thoughts, etc. So I branched out to a collective community for the female entrepreneur - just knowing that you’re not alone on this journey and connecting with other like-minded females who just ‘got it’ - really helped and I didn’t feel so alone.
Having years of experience in the event industry, crafting the magazine + websites, I developed a passion for design and unique products - bringing me back to my hospitality, marketing and sales roots. That is when The House of COCOLILY came to fruition - offering branded merchandise and promotional items from logo cookies and apparel to journals and tote bags. This also allows me to curate bespoke promotional products for brands and assisting them in their branding strategy.
I wanted to create a unique platform for the female entrepreneur, a place for inspiration, a place to celebrate other female entrepreneurs; sharing their stories - while also helping female entrepreneurs and their brands with creative design, sales support, small business x marketing coaching - all with which I have over 20+ years of experience in!
I am blessed to do what I love. I believe that good things happen with coffee, conversation and collaboration in a like-minded community.
