self-care-ideas-spring-season

Here are some self-care ideas for Spring. From health and wellness to organization and simple happiness that will bring you joy.

HOME.

  • Start a garden. This can include planting a few herb seeds in flower pots for your kitchen or planting flowers in the backyard. Whatever brings you joy!

  • Buy a new candle or diffuser for your space.

  • Redecorate a room, move things around or create a cozy nook just for yourself.

  • Choose one space in your home and declutter.

  • Open up your curtains and windows and let the fresh air in.

  • Buy yourself flowers. Place in the kitchen or on your desk and liven up your space!

  • Clean out your bookshelf.

STYLE + BEAUTY.

  • Wardrobe declutter. Select your Spring wardrobe and donate items you won’t wear to charity. I love a capsule wardrobe myself and trying to work on that ; )

  • Put together a few outfits that make you feel amazing and wear them - don’t save them for a ‘special day’ as every day is special and a gift ;)

  • Start a new skincare routine for the season.

  • New Spring beauty routine. Maybe a new lipstick colour? Also, declutter any makeup or beauty products that you haven’t used for a long time.

  • Get a new haircut.

SUNSHINE + NATURE.

  • Go for a walk. Even if it’s just around the block, try to get some air and enjoy the sunshine.

  • Go on a picnic and enjoy eating al fresco!

  • Go puddle jumping.

  • Take a walk in the rain.

HAPPINESS + JOY.

  • Meet up with a friend for coffee.

  • Journal your thoughts.

  • Breakfast in bed!

  • Nightstand notebook. Keep a notebook on your night table for those ‘middle of the night’ thoughts and ideas, things to do, things you forgot to do and must do.

  • Choose a new book to read - perfect for rainy nights.

  • Choose joy. Make a list of things that make you happy and try to incorporate at least one a day. Simple things like this will bring more joy into your life.

  • Start saving and planning for your summer getaway - even if it’s just a one night spa retreat, it’ll give you something to look forward to.

  • Try yoga or stretching exercises. My favorite is Yoga with Adriene and also Qigong (amazing for stretching the body but also brings you calmness).

  • New hobby. This can be learning a new language or an online cooking class.

  • Wear your coziest pajamas and watch a movie in bed.

  • Soak in the tub with a face mask on.

  • Do something you enjoyed as a kid.

  • Buy a new umbrella that will make you smile every time you open it.

  • Go for Brunch with a friend or host a small soiree at home. Check out the latest Recipe Love List on the COCOLILY Journal that features a few brunch recipes.

  • Nostalgia. Watch one of your favorite movies or shows from when you were little or listen to your favorite songs.

  • Write a love letter to yourself.

PLACES TO GO. THINGS TO DO.

  • Slowly wander through a museum or art gallery.

  • Color in an adult coloring book or paint by number kit (my new favorite thing to do now!).

  • Create a new music playlist.

  • Get a massage.

  • Buy a new comfy outfit or tee - be sure check out the femme collection!

  • Do that task that you’ve been putting off for ages.

  • Wash your car and clean out the inside; including the trunk!

  • Go stargazing.

  • Get a pedicure.

  • Schedule that doctor’s appointment.

  • Create a mood or vision board on Pinterest.

  • Take a long drive with great music.

  • Visit a botanical garden.

  • Take a day off for yourself. You deserve it.

  • Write down one goal you’d like to accomplish this season.

  • If you have time, volunteer.

  • Fly a kite. Saying this, always makes me think of Mary Poppins :D

  • Take yourself on a date.

  • Have a self care Sunday (or Saturday).

ORGANIZATION.

  • Delete old contacts.

  • Unsubscribe from newsletters that you no longer need.

  • Organize your desktop files.

  • Clean up your inbox.

  • Backup any files or photos onto a cloud drive.

  • Delete apps off your phone that you haven’t used in months.
