Candle Care Guide & Safety Guide.

To help you enjoy your candle safely, beautifully, and as intended.

Before You Light.

  • Trim the wick to ¼" (6mm) before each burn. This prevents smoke, mushrooming, and ensures a steady, clean flame.

  • Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, curtains, or anything flammable.

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets at all times.

While Burning.

  • Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time. Extended burning can overheat the container or affect scent throw.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Stay in the room and keep the flame within sight.

  • Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar, especially during the first burn. This prevents wax tunneling and ensures an even, longer-lasting burn.

  • Keep the candle free of debris such as match tips or wick trimmings. Foreign objects in the wax can pose a fire hazard.

  • If the flame becomes too high or flickers constantly, extinguish it, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.

  • If You Notice Wick Movement:
Because our candles are hand-poured and use natural wax, very long burn sessions or high temperatures may occasionally loosen the wick sticker. If you see any movement, extinguish the flame immediately, allow the wax to cool and harden, and gently reposition the wick base before relighting.

Extinguishing Your Candle.

  • Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame — avoid splashing the hot wax.

  • Let the wax cool completely before touching or moving the candle.

  • Do not use water to extinguish your candle — this can cause hot wax to splatter and the container to break.

Caring for the Candle Vessel/Jar/Tin.

  • Stop burning the candle when ½" (1.25 cm) of wax remains at the bottom. Burning beyond this point can overheat the jar and cause it to crack.

  • Once the candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax and reuse the jar — it’s perfect for desk storage, flowers, or a little Parisian charm.
