These features are inspirational, not promotional, and curated to resonate with other women building brands, businesses, and lives they love.

Editorial Policy.

HER STORY is curated and complimentary. Features are selected for editorial excellence. Optional promotional visibility is available, but inclusion is based solely on story quality.

Tone & Voice.

  • Editorial, refined, and evocative

  • Highlight the feeling behind your work, not just the results

  • Storytelling, imagery, and personal anecdotes preferred over bullet points

  • Elegant, conversational, and timeless

  • Avoid clichés, overused motivational phrases, or exclamation marks

Story Structure.

1. Introduction.

  • 2–3 sentences to draw the reader in and capture the essence of your journey

2. Your Journey.

  • Describe your entrepreneurial path, challenges, pivots, and milestones

  • Include personal anecdotes that reveal your approach, values, and style

3. Words of Wisdom.

  • 1–3 editorial, magazine-style reflections for other entrepreneurs, to inspire them.

  • Examples:

    • “Be authentic and true to your brand; you don’t need to follow the trends.”

    • “Do what you love and more joy will flow.”

4. Petite Joy / Signature Detail.

  • One small, beautiful habit or indulgence that reflects your personality, brings you joy or creative approach

  • Examples: morning espresso in your favorite cup, receiving a handwritten note, a favorite flower, a freshly baked croissant, your signature scent, red lipstick, the first snowfall, etc.

  • Keep it elegant, personal, and timeless

5. Notes & Bio

  • Graceful summation of your philosophy or approach

  • Optional hint at what’s next or ongoing inspiration

  • Bio: 50–75 words with current work and website or social handles

Visuals & Layout Guidance.

  • Portrait, workspace, or lifestyle photos preferred; black-and-white or muted tones work best

  • Include 1–3 high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi for print, 1080 px for digital)

Submission Guidelines.

  • Original, unpublished work

  • Word count: 700–1,200 words (up to 1,500; longer submissions may be abbreviated)

  • Avoid promotional language; editorial content only

  • Submit images with proper rights and credits

    • Your full name and contact information

    • Your bio and relevant links

Please note the distinction between an editorial and a promotional post before submitting content to us.

  • An editorial is valuable content to the reader or an inspirational story.

  • A promotional post is the promotion of your product, service and business.

  • Should you submit an article that contains promotional content, we will contact you with specs for a sponsored featured. In addition, we have the right to not publish the content.

  • These guidelines are in place to ensure a high quality publication, aesthetically appealing images and unique experience for our audience including the content and images we publish.

Meeting our Editorial Standards.

At COCOLILY & CO. we have a certain aesthetic and high standard for your story/photos to be considered. Photography is of utmost importance as it must be professional, high quality and fit our aesthetic. You must send a selection of high resolution, professional images in order to be considered.

Editorial Notes.

  • By submitted your content or story, you give COCOLILY & CO. permission to publish and post online via the website/journal, social media, print and/or digital publication.

  • By submitting you give permission to COCOLILY & CO. to crop and edit images if required to fit pages and layouts of the magazine/journal and use your work in any of our publications, website, social media, videos, marketing materials or any other forms of COCOLILY & CO. content.

  • We/Editors of COCOLILY & CO., retain editorial and artistic selection on which images (if any) are published. No final draft will be provided of the layout.

  • COCOLILY & CO. does not provide complimentary copies of our print publication nor do we pay for content, stories, and styled shoots.

  • If accepted, a release form will be sent to you.

  • Due to the volume of queries, we will only respond to those being considered for publication.

Review Process.

We aim to review submissions within 4-6 weeks.
Only those being considered will be contacted.
We may contact you for edits or clarification.
Publication is curated; we reserve the right to decline content.

Rights & Compensation.

By submitting, you grant COCOLILY & CO./COCOLILY Magazine the right to publish your article both online and in print.
You retain copyright.
HER STORY is a volunteer, editorial feature; no payment is offered.
