Makery Lane was never meant to become a business. It began as a personal search for relief.
Living with an autoimmune disease meant years of struggling with severe skin issues and trying countless products that promised results. Eventually, I qualified for a clinical trial medication that cleared my skin, but the health complications that followed changed the course of my life.
That experience led me to question everything I was putting on and into my body. I began researching traditional skincare and experimenting with simple ingredients that had been trusted for generations. The first ingredient I worked with was locally sourced grass fed tallow from a regenerative farm. Knowing where my ingredients came from became an important part of the process.
What started as a solution for my own skin slowly grew into something unexpected. After making my first batches, I had more product than I could use myself, so I listed a few jars online. People began asking for them. Those early conversations led to local markets, loyal customers, and eventually seeing Makery Lane products on the shelves of local shops.
Today, Makery Lane continues to work with local farmers, sourcing ingredients such as grass fed tallow, beeswax, and honey. Every product is made in small batches using ingredients that are simple and familiar.
Looking back, what began as one woman's search for something better became a business rooted in local sourcing, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for creating products people enjoy using every day.
My petite joy is an early morning at the barn with a fresh cup of coffee, fresh air, and horses nearby. Those simple moments remind me how much beauty can be found in everyday life.
