September Coffee Moments
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall.”
September doesn’t announce itself loudly. It arrives gently with the scent of something changing in the air. The leaves slowly start to change colour and the air gets colder in the morning - almost makes you feel alive again.
In this season of shift, coffee becomes more than caffeine. It becomes company.
It’s there beside the notebook where Autumn goals start to take shape. It sits warm on the desk during late-afternoon work that somehow feels more focused as the light softens. It waits patiently for you to return from a morning walk with dew still clinging to your shoes.
Whether it’s a maple oat latte, a cinnamon cold brew, or a simple, perfect black pour-over, these drinks are made for September. They hold that bittersweet in-between. Not quite the bold spice of October, not fully the brightness of August—just a grounded middle.
So here’s to the coffees that carry us through the beautiful season.
Maple Cinnamon Oat Milk Latte
You’ll need:
1 shot of espresso (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee)
¾ cup oat milk
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Optional: a dash of vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a small pot or milk frother, heat the oat milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla (if using) until hot but not boiling.
Froth the mixture if you like it foamy.
Pour over espresso or coffee.
Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon on top.
Sip slowly—this one’s made for quiet mornings.
Cold Brew with Spiced Cream
You’ll need:
1 cup cold brew coffee
¼ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
½ tsp pumpkin pie spice (or just cinnamon + nutmeg)
1 tsp maple syrup or brown sugar
Instructions:
In a small jar or bowl, whisk the cream, spice, and sweetener until slightly thickened but still pourable.
Fill a glass with ice, pour in the cold brew.
Gently pour the spiced cream over the top—let it swirl.
Stir if you like, or let it settle as you sip and unwind.
Brown Sugar Iced Shaken Espresso
You’ll need:
2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong coffee, cooled)
1 tbsp brown sugar
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Ice
Splash of milk or non-dairy alternative (optional)
Instructions:
In a shaker (or a jar with a lid), combine espresso, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ice.
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until foamy and chilled.
Pour into a glass over fresh ice.
Add a splash of milk if you like a creamier finish.
Toasted Coconut Cold Brew
Still hanging on to summer? This one keeps things bright, with a hint of cozy.
You’ll need:
1 cup cold brew coffee
¼ cup coconut milk or coconut cream
1 tsp toasted coconut flakes (optional, for garnish)
Sweetener to taste (maple syrup or brown sugar works well)
Instructions:
Stir or shake the coconut milk with your sweetener of choice.
Pour cold brew over ice.
Top with the coconut milk mixture.
Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes on top if you want a little texture and flair.
