Editorial Guidelines for Contributors.
To be considered for our journal/blog, articles must adhere to the following criteria:
Preference will be given to those who demonstrate a genuine interest in our readers and provide content that is informative or inspiring.
We accept entrepreneur related content, small business tips from experts related to marketing, PR, wholesale, social media, branding, websites, etc., lifestyle for women including wellness, fashion and beauty along with industry only wedding styled shoots (ie. featuring Chefs or business owners etc.)
We accept submissions from photographers and their creative teams, female-led brands, bloggers, writers, fashion and beauty brands.
Submissions to direct the audience to visit your site or try out your product will not be accepted. This falls into the category of sponsored content at which point it will need to be reviewed for a sponsored post based on our aesthetics, specs and guidelines.
Editorial content must be high-quality and original content.
Ideal article length is 600 to 1,200 words (one or two pages). If it exceeds 1,200 words, we reserve right to publish an abbreviated version.
We reserve the right to edit your submission for brevity, grammar, readability and quality. If too much editing is required, it will not be published.
Your submission must be of interest and relevance for our readers. It is our editorial decision on choosing if it should be published. You retain the copyright to your writing, but once it’s submitted to us, we reserve the right to use, reuse and refer to it including any images provided to us for publication.
You accept that we reserve the right to edit and publish as we see appropriate for COCOLILY & CO. Journal, including the headline title, and which date or post it will appear in.
Confirm with your submission that it is your own original content and not infringing any copyright. (If using a quoted extract, please state the source or provide the link).
Provide at least five high quality and related photos to accompany your article. Stock images will not be accepted.
We/Editors of COCOLILY & CO., retain editorial and artistic selection on which images (if any) are published. No final draft will be provided of the layout.
Please note the distinction between an editorial and a promotional post before submitting content to us.
An editorial is valuable content to the reader or an inspirational story.
A promotional post is the promotion of your product, service and business.
Should you submit an article that contains promotional content, we will contact you with specs for a sponsored featured. In addition, we have the right to not publish the content.
These guidelines are in place to ensure a high quality publication, aesthetically appealing images and unique experience for our audience including the content and images we publish.
Meeting our Editorial Standards.
At COCOLILY & CO. we have a certain aesthetic and high standard for your story/photos to be considered. A truly unique story, event or space and expertise small business tips in an article format. Photography is of utmost important as it must be professional, high quality and fit our aesthetic. In some instances or locations, we are able to provide photography services. If that is not an option, you must send a selection of high resolution, professional images in order to be considered.
Submitting your content or story.
Story ideas should be submitted in the form of a letter, with one idea per letter with the above specs and guidelines.
The letter should also include your contact information including full name, telephone and email address.
Please ensure to also send 5-7 high quality JPG/PNG images for our review.
Please provide proper credits with links to all and any contributors, vendors, models, photographers, references in your submission. Format should be as such: FULL NAME/COMPANY NAME/WEBSITE LINK

You have to be the copyright holder of the images being submitted, or you have permission from the copyright holder to submit any images you submit.
By submitted your content or story, you give COCOLILY & CO. permission to publish and post online via the website/journal, social media, print and/or digital publication.
By submitting you give permission to COCOLILY & CO. to crop images if required to fit pages and layouts of the magazine/journal and use your work in any of our publications, website, social media, videos, marketing materials or any other forms of COCOLILY & CO. content.
COCOLILY & CO. does not provide complimentary copies of our print publication nor do we pay for content and styled shoots.
If accepted, a release form will be sent to you.
Due to the volume of queries, we will only respond to those being considered for publication.
